Then, inspect the A/C lines for any contamination such as metal or excessive dirt inside them. If any contamination is found, the system will need to be cleaned.Disconnect any electrical connectors from the A/C Compressor. Remove the A/C Compressor mounting bolts.
Remove the A/C Compressor from the vehicle. INSTALLING THE NEW or REMANUFACTURED A/C COMPRESSOR. Once the old compressor has been removed, begin by removing the receiver/drier or accumulator, and the expansion valve or orifice tube from the vehicle. Flush condensers from outlet to inlet. NOTE: Condensers produced from 1990 - present are extremely difficult to clean. As a result, if the compressor had a major failure, it is recommended that the condenser be replaced. This compressor comes pre-filled with the correct amount of oil. Thus, there is no need to add any additional oil to your system. Install the new receiver drier or accumulator, and new expansion valve or orifice tube. Next, install the new or remanufactured A/C Compressor. Install and tighten the A/C Compressor mounting bolts.Reconnect any electrical connectors to the A/C Compressor. Re-install the refrigerant lines and A/C belt to the A/C Compressor.
Reconnect the negative battery cable. Evacuate the A/C system with an A/C servicing machine for at least one hour. Check the system for leaks. If there are no leaks, install the refrigerant charge (Check the A/C system sticker under the hood of the vehicle for the proper amount and type of refrigerant for the system).
Then, let the system set for 2 minutes. Doing so will allow the refrigerant to carry the oil and spread more evenly throughout the system. Start the vehicle's engine and turn on the A/C system. Make sure the windows and doors of the vehicle are open.
